press release:
a single sheet of paper would not be enough to give a full description of thomas fehlmann and his gorgeous new record.

but we could also assume that this native-born swiss is one of the most dazzling figures of german pop culture and one of the pioneers of electronic music. as a member of palais schaumburg, he side-parted punk and catapulted german pop music out of its state of being awful.

at times when the toilets at tresor were still brand-new, thomas fehlmann and moritz von oswald, both reached their hands to detroit techno. he had co-produced outstanding albums, e.g. for blake baxter or eddie flashin folwkes, and later, as "flowing" member of "the orb", he wrote chillout music history. to cut a long story short, in the last two and a half decades, thomas fehlmann has actively been taking part in the decisive revolutions of music and sound.

now, with "visions of blah", he’s back and on to the dance-floor again in a most impressive way. fehlmann 2002 breathes in the hippest sounds of the jetzt-zeit and out comes a perfect album that proves that he is still close in touch with today's youth and club culture.

the musical bow is drawn from groovy ambient to clubby techno music and always circles around the core of characteristic "cologne minimal" sounds. but his handwriting is unmistakable. the technical standard impressing and the fun factor is terrific. thomas fehlmann is planning an extensive live our, from castrop-rauxel to shanghai. artwork again by bianca strauch.
